The 2024 Election for Nassau County residents encompasses races for federal, state, and local offices, as well as a single referendum in New York State.
Voters in 2024 will be choosing a new President and Vice President, a new U.S. Senator from the state of New York, a Member of the U.S. Congress in 3 districts, and a New York State Senator in 5 districts, a member of the New York State Assembly in 12 districts.
Voters will also be voting on a New York State referendum. This proposal would protect against unequal treatment based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity and pregnancy. It also protects against unequal treatment based on reproductive healthcare and autonomy. A “YES” vote puts these protections in the New York State Constitution. A “NO” vote leaves these protections out of the State Constitution.
In local races, Nassau residents will be voting for a Justice of the Supreme Court, a County Court Judge, a Family Court Judge, 4 District Court Judges in Nassau’s 2nd District, 3 District Court Judges in the 4th district, and a City Judge in the City of Long Beach.
The Town of Hempstead will also be voting for a Councilmember in District 5.
