Beloved neighborhood spot announces final day of service this Sunday, September 28th
For nearly two decades, Jackson’s in Commack has been more than just a restaurant—it has been a gathering place, a home away from home, and a space where countless memories were made. This Sunday, September 28th, Jackson’s will close its doors for the very last time, leaving behind a legacy of food, family, and community spirit.
The announcement, shared by the Jackson’s family on Instagram, was filled with gratitude and emotion. “There is no easy way to break the heart of our community, and today that is what we have to do,” the message began.
Jackson’s: A Place Where Memories Were Made
Since opening, Jackson’s has seen first dates turn into marriages, children grow from chicken finger orders to bringing in families of their own, and friends gather for celebrations big and small. It was a place where birthdays were toasted, baseball teams came after games, and the laughter of Mahjong nights and beer dinners filled the air.
Over 19 years, the restaurant became part of the rhythm of Commack life—a local staple that fed people not just with good food, but with warmth, hospitality, and connection.
The People Behind the Place
Jackson’s wasn’t just a business, it was a true family operation. Three generations of the family poured their hearts into the restaurant, most recently with the “best hostess in the whole entire world,” as they fondly wrote in their goodbye.
The owners also recognized the dedication of their team, many of whom have been part of Jackson’s for more than a decade. “We would be nothing without you, and the mark you have made on the community will be appreciated and celebrated forever,” they shared.

One Last Toast
As the final day approaches, the Jackson’s family invites the community to raise a pint and celebrate what the restaurant has meant over the years. Guests are encouraged to stop in one last time, share a meal, and say goodbye to a place that has been the backdrop to so many meaningful moments.
In their farewell, the Jackson’s family reminded everyone of the importance of supporting local businesses: “In a time when community is needed more than ever, please be sure to support the small businesses around you. Break bread with those who make you happy whenever you can.”
Cheers to Jackson’s
Though the doors will soon close, the spirit of Jackson’s will live on in the memories of all who walked through its doors. To Lori, Artie, Harry, Shelby, Riley, Wyatt, and the entire Jackson’s team—cheers to 19 years of food, family, and friendship.
This week is the last chance for the Commack community to gather at Jackson’s, enjoy a meal, and raise a glass one final time. Don’t miss the opportunity to say farewell to this neighborhood favorite.
