Before starting Going Local, Melissa led a career as a Tour Director and loved finding local restaurants and hidden gems for her guests when on tours. As the lead writer and Editor-In-Chief, she uses her Tour Guide skills to find the best places to eat, drink and shop local along with the best things to do on Long Island. Melissa has a mission to support local business by “Going Local.” As a local business owner herself, she understands the struggles entrepreneurs face when owning a business and is always trying to find ways to shine a spotlight onto them to help spread awareness.
