Beyond the Plate: Supporting Long Island Cares
Founded in 1980 by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and activist Harry Chapin, Long Island Cares has grown into one of the region’s most impactful organizations. The food bank distributes over 15 million pounds of food annually to more than 330 pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters, in addition to operating six First Stop Food Pantries across underserved communities.
“Thanks to Michael Bohlsen and the Bohlsen Restaurant Group, ‘Chefs Against Hunger’ will turn compassion into funding for thousands of meals across our community,” says Katherine Fritz, Vice President of Development & Communications at Long Island Cares.
A Bohlsen Restaurant Group Initiative
The event is made possible through the Bohlsen Restaurant Group (BRG), known for some of Long Island’s most prestigious dining destinations, including Prime: An American Kitchen & Bar in Huntington, H2O Seafood & Sushi in Smithtown, and Tellers: An American Chophouse in Islip. Tellers’ newly opened Next Door private event space provides the intimate setting for this meaningful dinner series.
Be Part of the Solution
As hunger continues to rise across Long Island, “Chefs Against Hunger” offers the community a chance to make a difference—one dinner at a time. By attending, guests not only enjoy an unforgettable evening of food and wine but also help provide meals to those who need it most. Tickets are limited for this exclusive series, so food lovers and community supporters alike are encouraged to secure their spots early.
