Ball Drops

Skip Times Square and celebrate locally with family-friendly ball drops, fireworks, music, and community fun across Long Island.

The New Year’s Eve Ball Drop in New York City may be the most famous in the world, but for many New Yorkers, the crowds, cold weather, and long waits make it far less appealing. Fortunately for Long Islanders, several towns across the island are hosting their own New Year’s Eve Ball Drops —offering all the excitement of a countdown without the chaos.

From early ball drops perfect for families to midnight spectacles featuring drones and fireworks, these local events provide the perfect way to welcome 2026 while supporting hometown businesses and organizations.

Guests can warm up with complimentary hot cocoa and coffee, and take part in a raffle featuring “30 Days of Dining,” showcasing gift cards from local Patchogue restaurants (raffle tickets are $20). The event is free to attend, with optional attractions and raffle tickets available, making it both festive and accessible. Fireworks will take place near Blue Point Brewery, adding a spectacular backdrop to the evening.
