From Nightlife to Novel Pages
Huntington Village is turning the page on a familiar address—and starting an entirely new chapter. The former bar space of Finley’s on Green Street, once synonymous with late nights and packed dance floors, is being transformed into something completely unexpected. Coming this winter, Published will open its doors as a community-focused bookstore, café, and cocktail spot, offering a warm, inviting alternative to the space’s nightlife past.
Set to open in mid-February, Published is redefining what this longtime Huntington location can be—swapping pounding music and party crowds for bookshelves, espresso drinks, craft cocktails, and a cozy atmosphere designed for connection.
A New Vision for a Familiar Space
While many associate the building with Finley’s, few realize that it was originally made up of two separate properties. The Finley family owned the restaurant side, kitchen, and outdoor space, while a different ownership group leased the main bar area. That bar side—once the heart of Finley’s nightlife—is now becoming Published.
The former restaurant side has also entered a new era and will soon reopen as Mighty Fine, which previewed the space with a pop-up event in December before closing for renovations in January. Together, these two new businesses mark a full transformation of a once party-centric property into a more daytime- and family-friendly destination for Huntington Village.

Meet the Family Behind Published
Published is owned and operated by Angela and Brett Jurow, a local husband-and-wife team inspired by both family life and a deep love of books.
The idea was born from their children’s passion for reading. “Bookstores are their happy places,” Angela shared, noting that the concept of owning a business had been in the back of her mind for years. The vision truly came together after visiting Rough Draft, a bookstore-bar in Kingston, New York.
“That’s when we realized that by adding the bar piece, we could create something truly unique,” Angela explained. “We felt it was exactly what Huntington needed.”

What to Expect at Published
At its core, Published is a community bookstore, but it offers much more than shelves of books. Guests can expect a thoughtfully curated space that serves:
Craft beer
Select wines
Classic cocktails
A full-service espresso bar
While there won’t be a full kitchen, Published plans to offer snack options and is currently developing additional food ideas to complement the experience.
Above all, the goal is comfort.
“We want people to feel cozy and welcomed every time they step foot in Published,” Angela said, describing the atmosphere with one word: hygge—a sense of warmth, comfort, and contentment.
A Complete Shift from Finley’s Past
Published represents a complete departure from the bar that once occupied the space.
“First and foremost, we want people to consider Published a family establishment,” Angela said. “We view it as a bookstore that offers a space to relax and socialize with friends and family—and we also serve drinks.”
The Jurows envision a place where parents can unwind while children and teens participate in early evening programming such as creative writing classes and book clubs—all under the same roof. Adults can expect similar opportunities, including book clubs, author signings, and community events.
“So ultimately,” Angela added with a smile, “nothing like Finley’s.”
More Than a Bookstore
At its heart, Published is about connection—both personal and communal.
“Published is a place for people to connect with the community, their families, and themselves,” Angela said. “We want it to be a safe space where all are encouraged to read, stay curious, and be themselves.”
With its blend of literature, drinks, coffee, and community-driven events, Published aims to fill a gap in Huntington Village—offering a welcoming space that feels just as comfortable for a quiet afternoon coffee as it does for an evening cocktail and conversation.
Published is Turning the Page in Huntington

For longtime locals and newcomers alike, Published offers a chance to experience Green Street in a whole new way—and to be part of a story that’s just beginning. Be sure to stop in, grab a book, sip something warm (or spirited), and help welcome this exciting new chapter to Huntington Village.
