Don’t Miss This Event Happening Monday October 21st!
Jackson Hall American Bar & Grill in East Islip is once again opening its doors for a noble cause with the second annual “All Boobs Matter” breast cancer awareness fundraiser. Scheduled for Monday, October 21st, from 4-8 PM, this event is dedicated to raising funds for the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition and the Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance, with 100% of the net proceeds being donated to these organizations.
The Second Annual “All Boobs Matter”
The heart behind this event is Chef Mike Landesberg, who has been on a mission to spread awareness about breast cancer since his own diagnosis a few years ago. Driven by his personal journey, Chef Mike is determined to make a difference, and last year’s fundraiser was a resounding success, raising over $26,000. This year, with the community’s support, he hopes to surpass that amount.
What To Expect
The event promises to be a day filled with fun, camaraderie, and the opportunity to support a critical cause. Attendees can look forward to amazing raffles with prizes such as a vacation package to Siesta Key, as well as drink specials and the chance to experience the true spirit of Jackson Hall—giving back to the community.
The two seatings for dinner, 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm are already sold out, but everyone is encouraged to come down for a cocktail and take part in the raffle, even if they don’t have a table reservation. The outdoor seating area will operate on a first-come, first-served basis for both seatings, and in case of rain, a tent will be provided. For more information, call (631) 277-7100.
The fundraiser will feature a 50/50 raffle, gift baskets, a Chinese auction, a jelly bean guessing game, drink specials, and an impressive array of prizes. There will be three tiers of raffle prizes, with Tier 1 offering items valued under $500, Tier 2 ranging from $500 to $1,000, and Tier 3 featuring prizes worth $1,000 to $5,000.
Among the prizes are gift cards from over 100 local restaurants that have generously donated to the cause, a Weber grill, jewelry, sports memorabilia like signed baseball bats, lottery trees, wine and liquor, and the coveted Siesta Key vacation package.
The raffle will kick off between 7:30-8 PM, with the drawing expected to last about two hours, due to the overwhelming support and donations received. Winners who are not present will be contacted so make sure to include your name and phone number on your tickets.
Exciting News!
Recently announced, was the launch of a groundbreaking initiative by the Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance (MBCGA) to support research focused on breast cancer in men, a cause often overlooked in mainstream efforts. “This new initiative was kicked off in Philadelphia with Michael joining me and Cheri Ambrose, our founder and president, to present a check for $10,000 to the Penn Medicine Basser Center for BRCA,” shared MBCGA Vice President Kathi Edelson Wolder. “The donation, coupled with a generous match from the Basser Center, will help advance the work of its Men & BRCA Program.”
According to Wolder, the decision to prioritize this research was driven in part by Michael, a BRCA2/CHEK2-positive breast cancer survivor and Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance (MBCGA) board member. “Michael was definitely a catalyst in our making the decision to do this,” Wolder said. His dedication, evident through his annual “All Boobs Matter” fundraiser at Jackson Hall Bar & Grill, helped seed the funding for this initiative. “It is so very important to Michael, and to us, that those who support his annual fundraiser know and understand the kinds of important initiatives that are being made possible by their generous donations,” she emphasized.
