A Heartfelt Thank You to Islip
For eight years, Dang BBQ in Islip has been a staple for those craving Southern comfort, smoky flavors, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Known for its slow-smoked meats and family-style hospitality, the restaurant has become a gathering place for friends, families, and food lovers alike.
Owner Anthony Mastro expressed deep gratitude to the Islip community for their unwavering support, especially after the announcement that the Islip location would close. “The love and support you have shown us has enabled us to survive six months past the point where we believed we were going to be forced to close our doors,” said Mastro. “That support not only saved some local jobs, but it gave us all hope that BBQ and Southern cuisine can make it here on Long Island.”
The Next Chapter: Seaford and Beyond
While October 30th will mark the final day of service at the Islip location, this is far from the end for Dang BBQ. Instead, it represents the next evolution of the brand. Beginning in November, the Islip staff will merge with the Seaford team, allowing Dang BBQ to continue serving Long Island from a larger, more versatile space.
The Seaford restaurant offers expanded menu options, including all-American comfort classics like fried chicken, smoked meatloaf, and a Sunday brunch menu — along with live music on weekends and larger event hosting capabilities.
All catering orders will now be fulfilled from Seaford, with convenient local pickup available at Marconi Manor (333 Moffitt Blvd, Islip). Gift cards will remain valid and can be used at the Seaford location or toward catering orders.

Saying Goodbye — and Hello Again
Before closing its doors in Islip, Dang BBQ plans to host a special farewell party to celebrate the memories, friendships, and flavors that made the restaurant a beloved part of the community.
Fans can also catch the Dang BBQ food truck at the Islip Fire Department Street Fair this Sunday, offering one more chance to enjoy their signature barbecue and say hello to Anthony and the crew.
And for those already missing their local fix — fear not. Plans are in the works for BBQ pop-ups at Marconi Manor, ensuring that Islip locals can still get a taste of their favorite Southern comfort close to home.
A Community Fueled by Flavor and Heart
Though the Islip location is closing, the spirit of Dang BBQ lives on through its loyal customers and dedicated staff. As Mastro, Jackie, and team members like Haley join forces with their Seaford counterparts, their mission remains the same: to serve great BBQ with genuine hospitality, one plate at a time.
Dang BBQ’s story is a reminder that when a community rallies behind a local business, the impact can last far beyond four walls — it becomes part of the heart and soul of the neighborhood.
