Necromantic Brew Co

In the bustling town of Farmingdale, New York, Ralph Mandarino and Jesse Solano embarked on an unconventional journey that combined their love for horror films, a passion for brewing, and a commitment to inclusivity. A decade ago, their story took an unexpected turn when Ralph was diagnosed with celiac disease, rendering him unable to indulge in the simple pleasure of sharing a beer with his friend.

Undeterred by this setback, Ralph and Jesse decided to channel their enthusiasm into a unique venture – crafting gluten-free beer. Shifting away from traditional ingredients like wheat, barley, rye, malt, and most grains that are not gluten-free, they opted for a distinctive blend of buckwheat, millet flour, flaked quinoa, and occasionally organic corn. Sourcing these ingredients from a dedicated gluten-free facility in Oregon ensured the integrity of their brews.

After countless hours of experimentation and taste tests with Jesse as the discerning palate, Necromantic Brewing Company was born. Nestled at 253 Main Street in Farmingdale, this establishment stands out as the sole gluten-free tasting room and brewery in New York. The interior pays homage to their love for horror, adorned with an array of memorabilia that immerses patrons in the macabre ambiance.

Featuring ten tap lines, Necromantic Brewing Company offers a diverse selection of gluten-free beers, providing a haven for those with celiac disease. Closed on Mondays, the brewery hosts themed nights to infuse a sense of community and entertainment. From Horror Book Club gatherings to Paint and Sip sessions, Thriller Tuesdays, Psychic Nights, and a horror board game club, there’s something for every horror enthusiast. Follow them on Instagram here for a list of their upcoming events.

Beyond the unique brews and themed events, Ralph and Jesse envisioned Necromantic Brew Company as a sanctuary for individuals with celiac disease. They wanted to create a space where patrons could revel in the camaraderie of shared experiences without the fear of gluten-related repercussions.

In the heart of Farmingdale, Necromantic Brew Company stands not only as a testament to friendship but also as a beacon of inclusivity, offering a haven for those seeking flavorful gluten-free alternatives in the realm of craft beer. Cheers to Ralph and Jesse for turning adversity into opportunity and providing a chillingly delightful experience for all who enter their gluten-free brewery.
