The areas affected include... Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 40 NM... New York Harbor... At 1258 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 11 nm northwest of Mamaroneck Harbor to 9 nm south of Cliffwood Beach, moving east at 40 knots.
