PUBlic Art Crawl

The 4th Annual PUBlic Art Crawl in Huntington Returns Saturday June 8th 12pm-5pm!

The PUBlic Art Crawl was created four years ago during the Pandemic as a safe way for people to enjoy the public-facing art you can find throughout Huntington village. It was created by Diane Palma (co-owner of Digho Arts) and Kieran Johnson (Executive Director of the Huntington Arts Council) in partnership with the Huntington Chamber of Commerce.

Since then, the event has grown and with that came additions like live music, guided mural tours, pub tours, kids activities, scavenger hunts and specials at local businesses all around town! It’s an event that not only drives commerce to the town and highlights our local artists, but also brings people together.

This year, the PUBlic Art Crawl will take place on Saturday June 8th from 12:00pm-5:00pm with a rain date of June 15th. There is a ton going on that day you don’t want to miss so Going Local has all the details to help you out! Below, you will find all the events happening that day with times, location and anything else we can think of!

Events Happening at the PUBlic Art Crawl

Live Painting

Each year, participants have the opportunity to witness our local artists at work whether it be painting a mural or large canvas. This year, you get both!

In Artist Alley, you’ll find local artists Jen Salta and Patty Eljaiek live painting large framed canvases that will find their home inside 2 local businesses. Ben & Jerry’s is doing something really cool this year by having a mural painted by a collaboration of people! Participants will have the opportunity to pick up a paint brush and paint the outlined mural!

If you’re looking to keep the kids happy, head to the Huntington Arts Center located at 7 Wall Street. In the back courtyard area, they will be hosting Kid Crafts all day (*while supplies last) sponsored by the Art League of Long Island’s Summer Camp: Summer Art Adventure. For adults, make sure to head inside and check out their new space. We know Wendy, the owner, and she is not only an amazing woman, but such an asset to the art community in Huntington.
