4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Jones Beach
This Fourth of July, Jones Beach State Park is set to host the Jovia Financial Credit Union Fireworks Spectacular, starting at 9:30 p.m. The event promises a dazzling display of pyrotechnics, synchronized to music broadcast by WALK 97.5 FM and KJOY-98.3 FM. The fireworks show is included in the regular parking admission fee.
This year’s show, sponsored by Jovia Financial Credit Union, is supported by various organizations, including the Natural Heritage Trust, Foundation for Long Island State Parks Inc., Captree Boatman’s Association, Newsday, Connoisseur Media Long Island, and J & B Restaurant Partners.
Highlights of the 25-minute display include fireworks inspired by “Barbie,” Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift. The show will feature 5,000 shells launched from a barge 2,000 feet offshore. Expect to see “pink and aqua” effects accompanying Dua Lipa’s “Dance The Night” from the “Barbie” movie, “ghost rings” for Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ’em,” and a “cracking flower section” for Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer.”
Patriotic themes will also be showcased, with fireworks set to Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” and Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.” The finale will feature “massive golden weeping willow fireworks” to Whitney Houston’s “America the Beautiful,” followed by a “high energy, super intense” sequence to John Philip Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”
In addition to the fireworks, the celebration marks the 100th anniversary of New York State parks. Starting at noon, visitors can enjoy live musical entertainment, children’s performances, and historical exhibits along the boardwalk, highlighting each decade from the 1920s through the 2020s. The park will remain open after the fireworks for continued festivities.

See the fireworks from a different viewpoint on the pier and long shoreline at Wantagh Park (1 King Road, Wantagh, 516-571-7460) or at nearby Cedar Creek Park (3340 Merrick Rd., Seaford, 516-571-7470). Admission is free with proof of Nassau County residence; nonresidents pay a $10 parking fee.
Nassau County residents with a Leisure Pass can see the show at the county’s Nickerson Beach Park, located on Long Beach west of Jones Beach. Parking costs $15. Nonresidents pay a $37 parking fee. (880 Lido Blvd., Lido Beach, 516-571-7700).
4th of July Fireworks in Asharoken
In Asharoken, the 4th of July fireworks can be enjoyed from several vantage points since there is no public viewing area or parking within the village itself. Spectators can head to Crab Meadow Beach, James Street, or Ocean Avenue in Northport for a good view.
Alternatively, watching from a boat in Northport Bay or the Long Island Sound offers a unique and scenic experience of the fireworks display. The display will begin at approximately 9:15 pm. The rain date is scheduled for Friday, July 5.
Stars Over Montauk
On Thursday, July 4, 2024, Montauk will host the “Stars over Montauk” Independence Day Celebration at Umbrella Beach, just a third of a mile west of town. The fireworks display, orchestrated by Grucci, will begin at 9:00 PM EST. Spectators are invited to enjoy the show, and sponsorships are available through the Montauk Chamber of Commerce, which can be contacted at [email protected].
