Beloved Greek Restaurant Will Serve Its Final Meal on September 14
For more than 14 years, Neraki has been a cornerstone of Huntington Village, delighting diners with authentic Greek cuisine and heartfelt hospitality. Owned and operated by the Moschos family, the restaurant became known not only for its fresh seafood and traditional dishes but also for the warmth and familiarity that greeted guests the moment they walked through the doors.
This month, Neraki announced that it will be serving its final meal on Saturday, September 14th.
A Heartfelt Farewell
In a message to the community, the Moschos family shared:
“After over 14 wonderful years serving the Huntington community, we are saddened to announce that Neraki will be serving its last meal on September 14th. We are truly grateful for your many years of support, and the many memories we’ve shared together. We would love to see you over these next two weeks to say thank you in person and to say goodbye.”
The announcement has been met with sadness by loyal patrons, many of whom have celebrated milestones at Neraki, from birthdays and weddings to baptisms and anniversaries.
Alex Shares His Thoughts
Owner Alex Moschos reflected on the difficult decision to close:
“It was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make. I have some employees who have been with me for 15 years and telling them was probably the most difficult thing I have had to do. They are more than just employees, they are family.”
Moschos explained that while an opportunity to sell came about, his love for Huntington remains unwavering:
“I love Huntington very much, I loved it so much that I moved my family here. I will continue to support the businesses here and be an advocate for Huntington Village. Huntington Village is a very special place to own and operate a business. Many of the other business owners have become dear friends.”

A Legacy of Memories
When asked what he will miss most, Alex’s response spoke to the heart of what Neraki has always been about—people:
“I will miss the familiar faces. I will miss the new faces that I met on a regular basis. I will miss the patrons that became like family. I will miss the celebrations and events that were had at my restaurant—engagements, weddings, christenings, bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, and every other celebration of life. I will miss my staff very much. They were my family.”
Looking Ahead
While Alex is still considering his next steps, he plans to take time to reflect and make the best decision for his family. He remains deeply grateful for the community that embraced Neraki for so many years.
Say Goodbye Before September 14
As Neraki prepares to close, the community has a week or so to enjoy one last meal, share memories, and thank Alex and his team for over a decade of hospitality. Whether you’ve been a longtime patron or have yet to experience Neraki’s celebrated dishes, now is the time to stop in, savor the flavors, and say goodbye.
A Final Toast to Neraki
The Moschos family summed it up best:
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. With love and gratitude, The Moschos Family and Team at Neraki.”
Neraki’s last day of service will be Saturday, September 14th. Be sure to visit, raise a glass, and wish Alex well as he begins his next chapter
