Why This Westbury Gem is My New Go-To for Food, Fun & Experiences
Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas has quickly earned a top spot on my list of favorite local hangouts. With locations in Westbury, NY, and Clifton, NJ, they’ve mastered the art of blending authentic Italian flavors with a modern, welcoming atmosphere. Think housemade pastas, delicious brunch, happy hour specials, and—my favorite part—interactive experience classes that make dining out even more exciting.
My Pasta-Making Adventure at Spuntino Wine Bar
Recently, I had the chance to attend their Pasta Making Class at the Westbury location, and let me tell you—this was right up my alley. I’m a sucker for anything labeled an “experience,” especially if it involves food and wine.
For just $30 per person, we were treated to two glasses of wine, warm olive bread with dips, a fresh bowl of spaghetti pomodoro, and the chance to make our own fresh pasta from scratch. Not bad for a Wednesday night.

The evening started with a warm welcome from the staff, who guided us into a private room set up with long tables. Each seat had a mixing bowl, semolina, pasta water, gloves, and space to work. The class began promptly at 6 p.m., led by a friendly host who shared fascinating tidbits about the origins of pasta, tomatoes and so much more.
Executive Chef Paul Leader was hands-on, helping us roll out our dough and run it through the pasta machine. Not only did we get to enjoy fresh spaghetti on-site (complete with grated Parmesan and more wine), but we also left with our own pasta to cook at home. As a parting gift, Spuntino even sent us off with a bag of their homemade pasta and details about future events.
