The beloved Main Street boutique will close at the end of March—but shoppers still have time to visit and support the small business

After four years of bringing sustainable fashion and artisan craftsmanship to Northport Village, the beloved boutique Raízes has announced that it will be closing its storefront at the end of March. Owner Monique shared the news with customers in a heartfelt message on Instagram, reflecting on the journey of opening the shop in 2021 and the strong community that grew around it.

While the storefront may be closing, the spirit of Raízes will continue—both online and locally—giving longtime supporters and new visitors a chance to shop the brand before this chapter comes to an end.

A Boutique Rooted in Culture and Sustainability

Since opening its doors on Main Street, Raízes has become a unique destination for shoppers looking for beautiful accessories with meaning and purpose.

The name “Raízes,” which means “roots” in Portuguese, reflects the boutique’s mission to celebrate heritage while supporting artisan communities. Inspired by Brazilian culture and ethical fashion practices, the shop offers a thoughtfully curated collection of handcrafted jewelry, leather goods, and home décor.

Many of the pieces are made with natural materials sourced from Brazil, including golden grass, a sustainable fiber that is handwoven by artisans into striking jewelry pieces. Through her work, Monique has helped bring attention to traditional craftsmanship while promoting responsible fashion.

A Community That Welcomed Raízes

In her announcement, Monique shared gratitude for the Northport community that embraced the shop from the beginning. Opening the storefront in 2021 was described as a “bold leap,” but the village welcomed the boutique with curiosity and support. Over the years, Raízes became more than just a shop—it was a place where customers could connect with the stories behind the products and discover meaningful pieces created with care.

The heartfelt message also thanked customers for helping build the community that formed around the brand.

Raízes Isn’t Going Far

While the physical storefront at Raízes will close at the end of March, the brand itself will continue.

Customers will still be able to shop the full collection online, and part of the Raízes jewelry line will remain available locally at Nest on Main, a beloved collective located just across the street.

This next chapter allows the brand to continue sharing its mission and products while evolving beyond the storefront.

A Special Moving Sale Throughout March

Before closing its doors, Raízes is inviting the community to stop by one more time. Throughout the month of March, the boutique will host a special moving sale, giving shoppers the chance to purchase their favorite pieces while saying goodbye to the space that has been home to the brand for the past four years.

Visitors are encouraged to stop in, browse the collection, and share a moment with the team before the store officially closes.

Stop In Before This Chapter Ends

Small businesses like Raízes add personality, culture, and creativity to local downtowns, and their impact goes far beyond what sits on the shelves. They tell stories, support artisans around the world, and bring communities together.

With the storefront set to close at the end of March, there’s still time to visit, discover something meaningful, and show support for a local business that has become part of Northport’s vibrant Main Street.

If you’ve never stepped inside Raízes—or if it’s been a while—now is the perfect time to stop by, say hello, and take home a piece that carries a story with it.
