Looking for a Date Night Escape?
Oak & Vine checks all the boxes. Located in Glen Cove, but with flavors that could transport to a mini escape, this spot delivers fresh dishes, great vibes, and a touch of something special. From the moment you walk in, the name “Oak and Vine” comes to life. Vines and florals flow through both the exterior and interior, creating a bright, open space that still feels intimate. There’s also a cute outdoor setup with a little lounge area, perfect for cozy spring and summer nights.
An unexpected surprise? Chess boards at the bar, YES, really. It’s a clever touch that makes happy hour feel a little more interactive (and a lot of fun). The overall vibe strikes the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed. They have a stunning private space called the Symphony Room, ideal for parties or special events. Some nights, they even bring in classic live music to elevate the evening.

Cocktails? Yes Please!
Before even tasting a sip, I was impressed by the cocktail menu’s layout…clean, creative, and well-rounded. It’s split into sections like Signatures, Classics, Modern Classics, Party in a Glass, and Mocktails (because yes, you can still have a good time without booze). Whether you’re in the mood for your favorite classic or looking to be adventurous and try something new, this menu has something for everyone!
Northside 40
From the Signature section, this one set the tone for the night. Cucumber and mint gave it a clean, refreshing flavor, while bergamot added a bright, aromatic layer. Balanced, fresh, and silky (thanks to the egg white), this cocktail was a standout.
dEATS: Gin, Cucumber, Mint, Bergamot, Egg White, Italicus
Chica Picante Margarita
Under section “Party in a Glass”, which is very suiting, and rightfully so. One look at the garnish and I wanted to be sipping this on a tropical island. Sweet, but not syrupy, the pineapple and strawberry added freshness, while the jalapeño brought a subtle kick without overwhelming. A perfectly balanced spicy marg.
dEATS: Tequila, Jalapeno, Fresh Pineapple, Strawberry, Agave , Lime, Sea Salt, Tajin
Last Word
A Classic Cocktail of theirs, that left me with no words (in the best way). The floral gin paired beautifully with the herbal notes of Green Chartreuse and the sweetness of Luxardo Maraschino.
dEATS: Gin, Green Chartreuse, Luxardo Maraschino, Lime
Paper Plane
Fly me to Oak & Vine…” and let me order this Modern Classic. This cocktail hit all the right notes: Slightly bitter, slightly sweet, with just the right amount of citrus. And the tiny paper plane garnish? Simple. Smart. Creative. Memorable!
dEATS: Sam Ross, The Violet hour, Chicago, 2007 Bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, Lemon

Fresh Seafood Tower
No cocktail sauce in sight… and that’s a good sign. A light mignonette let the freshness shine. The shrimp were thick, juicy, and ice-cold, exactly how a shrimp cocktail should be. But the real pearl (quite literally)? The Long Island–native, fresh, bright and briny oysters.
dEATS: Shrimp, Oysters, Mignonette
Grilled Octopus
A true SEA of flavor. This octopus was SEAriously prepared to perfection—crisp on the outside (yes, crispy!) and melt-in-your-mouth tender inside (no chewiness here!). The salty, savory combo of chorizo and olive tapenade brought rich depth, while the red pepper purée added just the right touch of sweetness to round it all out.
dEATS: Octopus, Chorizo, Olive Tapenade, Red Pepper Purée
Heirloom Beets & Goat Cheese:
BEET this! Presentation was an easy 10/10. Even my fennel-avoiding boyfriend fennel-in-love with this dish. The beets had a bright pink hue I’d never seen before, and the flavors matched the vibrancy of the dish—sweet, citrusy, and creamy. The combo of orange segments, subtly sweet beets, candied almonds for crunch, tangy goat cheese, and crisp fennel made it feel like spring on a plate… though I’d order it any time of year.
dEATS: Baby Arugula, Shaved Fennel, Orange, Citrus Vinaigrette, Candied Almonds
Must Order Mains at Oak & Vine
Crispy Branzino
Crispy skin, tender on the inside, and prepped to perfection. But what really elevated the dish were the sides. If you think cauliflower is boring, this creamy mash will prove you wrong (I’d order it on its own). The sautéed spinach soaked up just enough miso vinaigrette to deliver that perfect savory umami flavor.Together, every bite was balanced and bold
dEATS: Creamy Cauliflower, Sautéed Spinach, Miso Vinaigrette
Seared Salmon
Not your average salmon. This dish leaned into bold Mediterranean flavors—and nailed the balance. The smoky char paired perfectly with cool herbed yogurt, while the za’atar brought a bright, tangy kick. Roasted carrots added natural sweetness, layered over creamy carrot hummus for a rich, earthy finish that tied it all together.
dEATS: Carrot Hummus, Charred Japanese Eggplant, Herbed Yogurt Za’atar
Skirt Steak
I don’t usually go for steak, but the vibrant chimichurri pulled me in. Its refreshing, herby kick paired perfectly with the medium-rare skirt steak. The fries were crisp and just the right size to soak up the rich truffle flavor. Golden star? The golden beer-battered onion ring sat on top of the crispy tower, giving it a unique touch.
dEATS: Skirt Steak, Beer-battered Onion Rings, Truffle Aioli, Crispy Fries, Chimichurri
Save Room for Dessert…Trust Me!
Chocolate Tree
One bite into this beauty and the rich chocolate tastes just as decadent as it looks. The hazelnut praline cream smooths out the richness, bringing a velvety balance to every forkful. Finished with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that ties it all together—this dessert is pure indulgence.
dEATS: Chocolate Cake, Hazelnut Praline Cream, Bourbon, Chocolate Glaze, Vanilla Ice Cream

Hoppy Surprise!
What a hoppy surprise and talk about the presentation! This festive dessert was a special feature on their Easter menu and truly stole the show. Moist carrot cake, rich chocolate shaped like a nest, and a thick, silky layer of cream (shaped like an egg) came together in the sweetest, absolutely delicious way. Almost too cute to eat… almost.
dEATS: Carrot Cake, Chocolate, Cream
