Northport Village is one of my favorite towns on Long Island mainly because it’s the perfect waterfront town. Picture a beautiful harbor filled with sailboats, a large lush lawn park that sits right in front of the water, and a “Main Street” straight out of a Hallmark Movie. That’s Northport Village. In addition, Northport offers up an excellent selection of local restaurants many with outdoor seating! Below, you will find the Best Spots for Outdoor Dining in Northport (in no particular order).

The Ritz Cafe (4.3 Google Rating)
Located at 42 Woodbine Ave in Northport Village, you’ll find The Ritz Cafe. They believe in using only the freshest ingredients to create delicious dishes. Led by Chef John Hatem, their menu is full of options that will satisfy any craving you may have. From classic comfort food to unique and exciting flavors, they have something for everyone. The Ritz Cafe offers outdoor seating on the sidewalk and is open 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner.
Brew Cheese (4.4 Google Rating)
A couple of doors down, you’ll find a local gem called Brew Cheese. Since 2015, Brew Cheese has been both an Artisanal Cheese Shop and a Craft Beer Bar. They pride themselves on their specialty grilled cheese sandwiches and cheesemonger-selected cheese boards. Brew Cheese stocks around 50 different artisanal cheeses, used to create 18 unique variations of the classic grilled cheese sandwich, ensuring there is something to suit everyone’s taste.
Their beer selection features a constantly rotating lineup of 8 curated taps, and their fridge is stocked with over 70 cans and bottles, available for enjoyment on-site or to take home. From juicy IPAs to mouth-puckering sour beers and crisp lagers, Brew Cheese offers a beer to satisfy every palate. They offer window seating and additional seating at outdoor tables to the left of the business. Brew Cheese is closed Mondays, but open 3pm-9pm Tuesday-Thursday, 12pm-9pm on Friday and Saturday and 12pm-8pm on Sundays.


Salted. On the Harbor (4.1 Google Rating)
Salted. On The Harbor opened up in June 2020 and has rounded out what was missing in the Northport restaurant scene. With views of the harbor and a menu that can satisfy any palate, Salted is a must try spot when in Northport. Salted refuses to compromise on quality in their restaurant and source the best ingredients they can get our hands on. They offer sidewalk seating for a meal outdoors and is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
Skippers (4.1 Google Rating)
Over the past 40 years, Skippers has been a staple in the Northport community, offering lunch, dinner, and cocktails at the bar. With waterfront dining that showcases inspiring views of Northport Harbor, Skippers provides a memorable experience featuring coastal Long Island dishes and chef-driven cuisine in a modern setting.
The restaurant offers both indoor and covered Outdoor Dining in Northport. Executive Chef Joab Masse and Chef de Cuisine Donaldo Pavon present a playful interpretation of classic dishes, emphasizing the purity and flavors of Long Island produce and a commitment to sustainable ingredients. Their menu includes small bites, salads, and main dishes featuring the freshest seafood available from Long Island.
Maroni Cuisine (4.7 Google Rating)
Maroni Cuisine® offers a unique dining experience that is difficult to describe but a pleasure to enjoy. Whether dining in or placing an order to go, their cozy restaurant makes guests feel completely at home. With no formal menu, Maroni Cuisine® breaks the rules and features a famous chef’s tasting menu along with an extensive takeout menu. The takeout options include “pots” of meatballs, penne a la vodka, linguine and clams, or ravioli. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 4 PM to 10 PM and offers outdoor alleyway seating.
Bistro 44 (4.3 Google rating)
Located on Main Street in Northport Village, Bistro 44 combines traditional New American cuisine with an elegant, modern chic ambiance. Just seconds from the scenic Northport Harbor and steps away from Long Island’s only year-round Broadway music hall, The John W. Engeman Theater, Bistro 44 is perfectly situated. The team at Bistro 44 takes great pride in each dish, committed to using only the freshest produce and highest quality meats.
With alleyway outdoor seating or patio seating, Bistro 44 is a great spot for a summer meal and is open everyday for lunch and dinner.
Northport Shipwreck Diner (4.6 Google rating)
The Shipwreck Diner is an iconic Northport landmark that has been serving outstanding food and memorable cheer for over a century. This comfortable family diner features an outdoor patio and a variety of famous brunch options, all nestled against the backdrop of Northport Harbor. Guests are invited to visit for breakfast, brunch, or lunch from 8am-3pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 7am-3pm Saturday and Sundays (closed on Tuesdays).
Harbor House (4.4 Google rating)
Welcome to Harbor House, Northport’s newest restaurant located on Main Street. This cozy, historical venue features memorabilia from Northport’s past. The menu includes fresh, modern seafood, chef-inspired seasonal fare, homemade ravioli, burgers, and a variety of specials. The interior boasts a warm atmosphere, and outdoor dining is available in season. Harbor House looks forward to welcoming guests soon and is open Monda through Wednesday from 4pm-10pm and Thursday through Sunday 11:30am-10:00pm.
Rockin Fish (4.2 Google rating)
Located in the heart of Northport Village, Rockin’ Fish is a gastropub that offers a mix of fresh seafood, creative sandwiches, salads, burgers, and fresh oysters. The team at Rockin’ Fish loves food and being part of the Northport community, and they pride themselves on continually growing and evolving to provide a unique and delicious dining experience.
Specializing in craft beer, Rockin’ Fish offers 16 types of craft beers on tap, with a rotating selection to ensure there is always something new to try. Located conveniently in Northport Village in Britannia Yachting Center, the Whales Tale is a laid back outdoor/indoor resturant featuring an array of specialty tacos hand stuffed with fresh fish, meat and chicken; hand crafted flat breads and more.
The Purple Elephant (4.6 Google rating)
The Purple Elephant proudly serves robust flavors of Central American and Latin cuisine with quality vegan, non-vegan, and gluten-free options. Believing that food should be clean, simple, and delicious, they source their products with great care from trusted sources, making every effort to procure non-GMO foods and organics.
Situated in the Britannia Yachting Center, the restaurant offers a cozy and casual atmosphere with a spectacular waterside view.
