Huntington’s Iconic Columbus Day Weekend Celebration Returns October 10–13

Every fall, Huntington transforms into a vibrant hub of community, culture, and celebration — and this year will be no different. From October 10–13, 2025, the Long Island Fall Festival returns to Heckscher Park, welcoming visitors of all ages for four days of music, food, shopping, and seasonal fun.

The Long Island Fall Festival is for Everyone

The Long Island Fall Festival has become a cherished tradition, bringing together neighbors and visitors alike to enjoy the very best the season has to offer. Guests can expect:

Live Entertainment: From talented local youth to established performers, the Chapin Rainbow Stage will be alive with music throughout the weekend.

Food & Drink: From food trucks to local eateries, festival-goers can indulge in delicious bites, refreshing beverages, and everything in between.

Artisan Market: Dozens of craft vendors and small businesses will line the park and streets with unique treasures.

Family Fun: Carnival rides, games, and free activities make this an experience children won’t forget.

The World-Class Carnival

Presented by Newton Shows, the carnival is one of the festival’s biggest draws. With rides that spin, soar, and thrill, it promises excitement for all ages. Wristbands and ride tickets are available, with discounted Pay-One-Price wristbands offered in advance for extra savings.

Special Highlights You Won’t Want to Miss

Opening Ceremony – Kick off the festivities on Friday night.

Meatball Eating Contest – Cheer on contestants at the Chapin Stage on Sunday, October 12 at 3:00 pm.

Beer, Wine & Spirits Tent – Enjoy locally sourced beverages curated by Six Harbors Brewing Co., while taking in live music from the main stage.

Street & Park Vendors – Browse hundreds of vendors on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for everything from handmade crafts to seasonal treats.

Magic Shows for Kids – Free daily magic and illusion performances in the carnival area at 12 pm, 2 pm, and 4 pm.

Heckscher Museum Activities – Families can take part in free art projects, including the Community Quilt with ASL integration, on October 12–13.

Finding Your Way

The Huntington Chamber of Commerce Information Tent will be open throughout the event to answer questions, located in Chamber Circle across from the Heckscher Museum cottage. Visitors can also pick up a free program guide and use the wayfinding signs placed throughout the park to locate festival highlights.

Parking & Shuttle Service

Festival-goers will find parking available in town lots and through legal street parking. For those wishing to avoid the village congestion, HART shuttle buses will run on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am – 6:15 pm for a $2 round trip fare. The shuttle picks up at the Huntington LIRR station near the station house and drops off just outside Heckscher Park.

Supporting Local Talent at the Long Island Fall Festival

The festival also shines a spotlight on local youth, with performances on the Chapin Stage on Saturday morning. These showcases are a reminder of the vibrant creativity thriving in the Huntington community.
