Long Island’s Largest Waterfront Festival Brings Food, Fun, and Family Entertainment

For more than 40 years, The Oyster Festival has drawn Long Islanders and visitors from across the East Coast to the historic hamlet of Oyster Bay. Known as the region’s largest waterfront festival, this iconic celebration offers a weekend packed with food, fun, and festivities. This year’s event takes place on Saturday, October 18th, and Sunday, October 19th, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the heart of Oyster Bay.

An Oyster Lover’s Paradise

Seafood lovers can indulge in oysters in every imaginable style: raw on the half shell, grilled, in chowder, fried, and more! Beyond oysters, the Seafood Court and food trucks will be serving up lobster rolls, seared scallops, lobster mac and cheese, fried calamari, clam chowders, king crab legs, shrimp cocktail, seafood paella, and more!

Exciting Contests and Live Action

One of the festival’s highlights is the Oyster Shucking and Eating Contests, held Saturday afternoon. Contestants show off their speed and skill on stage, while a giant screen broadcasts the excitement for the crowd to enjoy.

Family Fun for All Ages

The festival promises plenty of family-friendly entertainment. Newton Shows Carnival rides and games will take over Fireman’s Field, while a 45-foot inflatable whale from the Whaling Museum of Cold Spring Harbor invites visitors to step inside and explore. Kids and adults alike will love the Kings of the Coast pirate shows, performed twice daily, and the return of the John J. Harvey Fireboat, docked at the pier for all to see.

Shopping, Craft Beer, and Live Music

With more than 100 craft vendors, guests can browse unique handmade goods while enjoying a stop at the Craft Beer Garden. Live music will fill the weekend with performances from popular acts including That 70s Band, Crash My Party (Luke Bryan Tribute), Glass Houses (Billy Joel Tribute), and more!

A Community Celebration

Presented by the Town of Oyster Bay and the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Chamber of Commerce, The Oyster Festival welcomes more than 150,000 attendees each year. The event takes place along Audrey Avenue and at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park, making it a true celebration of local heritage and community spirit.

Whether you come for the food, the contests, the live entertainment, or just to soak in the festive atmosphere by the water, The Oyster Festival 2025 is a must-attend event.
