A Waterview Meal in a Casual Way at Bouy 35

I LOVE finding new spots and “hidden gems” on Long Island to share with our readers and do I have the spot for you! This past Sunday, I took the day “off” and had a “Sunday Funday” with my girlfriends who left it up to me to find a cool spot for the day. Well, I accepted the challenge and suggested trying this place I recently came across in my research, Buoy 35.

About Buoy 35

Buoy 35 opened up in August of 2023 and is owned by the Blue Point Hospitality Group. They wanted to open a fun place with great vibes for all the locals to come to enjoy with their friends and families. Mission accomplished!

The restaurant was named from the buoy off of Bayport-Blue Point, which is Buoy 35. When you pull into their parking lot, you’ll see a large green buoy that they actually had shipped up from Marathon Key as your marker that you have arrived!

They are known for their signature sandwich, the Mahi Rueben with Swiss and Asian slaw on seedless marble rye bread. In addition, if you like Lobster, check out Chef Mo’s Famous Lobster Roll! It comes dressed with lettuce and tomato and killer fries that are cooked perfectly!

A Great Place for Sunday Funday

Our group had lunch at Buoy 35 which was great! Our server, Taylor, was awesome and provided exceptional service that is hard to come by these days. Thanks Taylor!

We sat outside at the dockside tables on the perfect summer day. Sunny, but not too hot, a nice wind off the water and just a beautiful place to spend an afternoon.

We tried the mussels, fried calamari, baked clams and Chef Mo’s Famous Lobster Rolls…everything was delicious!

After lunch, we walked down to Bodhi’s Beach Shack for a drink on the beach. The beach was crowded, but we were able to find seats to enjoy our drinks. We are all about trying new spots on our Sunday Fundays, so having Bodhi’s be so close made it really easy.

Afterwards, we ended up going back to Buoy 35 for just one more drink before hopping in our Ubers.

Well, one drink turned into 2 once the live music started and we were pot committed to having more fun.

The band was awesome and was called “Yellowfly.” They played classics from Tom Petty, Paul Simon, the Beatles and so many more that had us all up dancing. It was so much fun.

We stayed way longer than we anticipated for so many reasons. The music was great, the vibe was perfect, the drinks were flowing and the staff were so nice. It was the perfect Sunday Funday. Thank you Buoy 35 for having us!

Conclusion

This month is their 1 year anniversary so make sure to head down and congratulate this local restaurant on 1 year in business!

They’re open year round and offer live music on the weekends (Friday and Saturday in off season and Thursday-Sunday during peak season).
