Known for her love of discovering standout restaurants, locally owned businesses, and memorable community experiences, Melissa is always on the lookout for hidden gems that deserve more attention. She launched Going Local in 2020 during COVID as a tour company with one simple goal: to help bring people back into local restaurants and small businesses during an incredibly challenging time. What started as a grassroots effort quickly grew into something much bigger. Now, six years later, Going Local Long Island has evolved into an article-based platform dedicated to spreading awareness of the incredible restaurants, businesses, and events that make Long Island such a special place to live, visit, and support.
